Choosing a padel racket
The short version if you are new: round rackets are forgiving and easy to control, diamond rackets hit harder but punish a miss, and teardrop sits in between. Weight matters more than most people expect. Under 360 g feels quick and easy on the arm, over 370 g gives you more power and more elbow ache if your technique is not there yet.
If you are buying your first racket, start round and light, and spend the difference on a lesson. If you have been playing a year and you are hitting the frame less than you used to, teardrop is the natural next step. Diamond is for players who already generate their own power and want more of it.
Common questions
What padel racket should a beginner buy in Ireland?
A round, lightweight racket between 79 and 130 euro. Round shapes have the sweet spot in the middle of the face, which means off-centre hits still go where you aimed. The NOX X-Zero Red and the Adidas Drive Light are both built for exactly this.
Do you charge customs or import duty?
No. We hold stock in Dublin and ship within Ireland, so there is nothing to clear and nothing extra to pay on delivery.
How long does a padel racket last?
For a social player putting in one or two games a week, two to three years. For anyone playing four times a week or more, expect the core to soften noticeably inside a year. A protector and a decent overgrip buy you a lot of that time back.
